Todos estan muertos

It’s 1996, and if you saw Lupe (35) in her bathrobe and slippers, stuck at home making pies, wholly dependent on her mother Paquita (65) and with a teenage son, Pancho (14), who hates her, you would never imagine that back in the 80’s she was a rock star. She and her brother Diego made up the band Edelweiss, whose first album was a huge hit.
But Lupe has turned her back on that distant time of touring and concerts. Now her agoraphobia won’t even let her leave the house to buy the ingredients she needs for cooking. Luckily her mother, a superstitious and bighearted Mexican woman, is there to do the shopping, to deal with her frequent crises, and to be a mother to Pancho.
It’s the Day of the Dead, and Paquita confesses to her son Diego that she is dying and needs his help. And so, Diego returns to the family home. He is just like he used to be: a kid in his twenties with an 80’s hair style. But he soon discovers that everything else has changed. No one remembers Edelweiss anymore, his little sister has become a bitter woman, and he himself is dead: he died fifteen years ago in a car accident in which his sister was driving. Diego is a ghost.
To make matters worse, there is Pancho, a kid he doesn’t know and who has taken his “place”: he sleeps in his room, wears his clothes and gets all of Paquita’s attention. Lupe wants Diego to go back to where he came from, but Diego doesn’t know how. He is also trapped in that house.
