Germany 1967. Ruby and Martin are young and setting out for rebellion. The price they have to pay for this is high: Expulsion from school, parental violence, and eventually the juvenile detention centre.
Martin and Rosemarie, who calls herself Ruby, are on the way to Offenbach to a Jimi Hendrix concert. But this is more than just a concert visit. Martin and Ruby have burnt their bridges behind them and are on the run. Ruby’s father is a ruthless tyrant, strictly Catholic and shaped by the war and the morals of the reconstruction era. Ruby therefore doesn’t dare to openly admit the love between her and Martin. For in her father’s eyes, Martin embodies everything he wants to keep his daughter away from. Martin is rebellious, has long hair and a brain full of nonsense. Ruby and Martin are young and testing their ability to make a stand. They pay a high price for this: expulsion from school, parental violence, and finally, confinement to a juvenile home. Despite all this, they are still prepared to fight for their love.
